What: Semantic release throws an error in the pipeline due to engine value being incompatible

error semantic-release@25.0.2: The engine "node" is incompatible with this module. Expected version "^22.14.0 || >= 24.10.0". Got "16.17.0"

Why: To have a passing pipeline

How: Update pkg.json, nvmrc and circle ci to use latest node LTS (22.22.0)

@jdalrymple I will merge this - I updated the pr title to use conventional commits

If you open new pr's, please try to follow that convention as it was enforced by the previous maintainers!! in the meantime... merging this so tests run 🥳
