Summary

  • Renames existing licence.txt (GPLv3) to LICENSE so GitHub recognizes it in the community standards checklist
  • No license change — keeps the existing GPLv3

Test plan

  • Verify LICENSE renders correctly on GitHub repo page
  • Confirm GitHub community standards checklist shows license as present

Adds a LICENSE file to meet GitHub community standards. Uses MIT for the
OCAP2 source code with a third-party notice clarifying that Bohemia

Code Review

This pull request introduces an MIT license, which is a positive step towards clarifying the project's licensing. However, it creates a conflict with the existing GNU General Public License v3.0 that is present in the licence.txt file and referenced in the README.md. This licensing ambiguity is a critical issue that needs to be resolved. If the intention is to relicense the project under MIT, the licence.txt file should be removed and the README.md should be updated to reflect this change.

Renames the existing GPLv3 license file so GitHub recognizes it in the
community standards checklist.
