Summary

  • Adds magazineIcon (index 19) to the :PROJECTILE: data array, containing the picture path from CfgMagazines config
  • Enables the web viewer to display magazine icons on grenade/smoke markers
  • Returns empty string if no icon is configured

Test plan

  • Verify smoke grenade projectile data includes icon path (e.g. \A3\Weapons_F\Data\UI\gear_smokegrenade_white_ca.paa)
  • Verify standard bullet projectiles include an empty or valid icon string
  • Confirm no regression in existing projectile tracking

Add CfgMagazines picture path as field [19] in the projectile data
array, enabling the web viewer to display magazine icons for grenade
and smoke markers.

Summary of Changes

Hello @fank, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request enhances the data captured for projectiles by integrating magazine icon paths directly into the projectile data array. This addition is crucial for improving the visual fidelity of projectile tracking in the web viewer, allowing for more accurate and informative display of various munitions, especially grenades and smoke rounds. The change ensures that relevant visual assets are available for rendering, while also maintaining robustness for cases where icon data might be absent.

Highlights

  • Projectile Data Enhancement: The projectile data array (:PROJECTILE:) has been extended to include magazineIcon at index 19. This new field stores the picture path from the CfgMagazines configuration.
  • Web Viewer Support: This change enables the web viewer to display appropriate magazine icons, particularly for items like grenade and smoke markers, enhancing visual representation.
  • Robust Icon Handling: The implementation gracefully handles cases where no icon is configured for a magazine by returning an empty string, preventing potential errors.
Changelog
  • addons/database/fnc_eh_fired_client.sqf
    • Added magazineIcon (index 19) to the projectile data array.
    • Included logic to retrieve the picture path from CfgMagazines config for the associated magazine.

Code Review

This pull request correctly adds the magazine icon path to the projectile data array. The implementation is straightforward, using getText to retrieve the picture property from CfgMagazines, and properly handles cases where an icon is not configured by returning an empty string. The corresponding comment in the data structure definition has also been updated. This change is a solid addition that will provide useful data for the web viewer.
